do you believe that a person can go from being normal to crazy? where their talking to themselves aloud?

Question:
my sister, who's highly intelligent, it's been a year since iv'e notice a grave change in her. from the person she really is to the person i'm facing as i write this. is two different indiviuals. she literally talks to herself where she starts to get angry, i just dont know what to do?

Answers:
Yes you can. In fact, the most common psychiatric disorder is Schizophrenia (occurs 1 in 100 people) and the age where it first appears is usually in the 20s and 30s. Schizophrenia usually affects people who are completely normal and lead successful lives. Symptoms begin all of a sudden and gradually get worse. She should see a psychiatrist.

Some of the common symptoms are hearing voices, talking to themselves or the voices, delusions, paranoia, etc.

Other Answers:
Might be over stress or mental breakdown.. pls sent her to the doctor
get her some serious medical teatment right away, sounds like she is in the early stages of scisophrnia (spelling?) and the right combanation of drugs and treatment could be a big help
Well, how old is she? Schizophrenia doesn't usually manifest until early twenties or college years. get a MD involved or psychiatrist
Take her to a psychiatrist ASAP before she gets worse..this is not for you to handle. She needs a trained professional. No one on here can tell you what is wrong. not even a professional mental health worker on here because she needs a thorough evaluation not a 2 second fix me up. I feel for you.I have a sister who is mentally ill.
We'll that sounds like me.. I thought for a while I was getting bi-polar but I was just very depress with some anger issues. And sometimes just by gettting your angry out it makes u feel a lot better. Also this type of behavior usually comes from a very upsetting event in your life . So maybe something really happen dramatically that cause this inner angry or hate.
