Zoloft and Brain Power?

Question:
I have been on some anti-depressants in the past that seemed to impair my academic ability (understanding, remembering, etc.) I started Zoloft this June, and haven't been in school since. I'll be in University in September, and I will be taking some highly theoretical physics courses containing hard-to-grasp material. Has anyone experienced these symptoms on Zoloft? University students? I am kind of paranoid that it will cause this, and even once I quit it takes MANY days for the drug to leave my system.

Answers:
I'm on anti-depressants and I used to take Zoloft but I didn't experience those symptoms, as a matter of fact, they are also known as "smart pills" (my doctor told me that.)
I've become more alert and my thinking bacame slightly clearer.

What I've found with zoloft and other antidepressants is that they relieve the mind of the pressures to allow for clearer thinking.
I took Zoloft for the senior year of highschool and freshman year of college. The only adverse affect the medication had on me was dry mouth for the first two weeks I took it. It in no way effected my academic preformance.
I was told by my doctor that all anti-depressants will affect memory. People react differently to different medications. For me, it was Wellbutrin, I wasn't able to function mentally at all. Other people do very well with it. If you're concerned about it, talk to your doctor about trying a new medication.
I have been on Zoloft now for almost ten years with no side affects at all.
