counseling men that were abused as boys help that is free?


Question:
my husband was abused very badly when he was a child physically and sexually but hes never had counseling and im just concerned that he my need help before he gets like 30 and flips out i dont want that happening exspeacially since were getting ready to be parents he shows no signs of being crazy or being a pedifile but just as a pecautionary measure i want to find a couseling should i try mental health i just dont know what to do
am i even right for trying to bring these issues up to my husband or what i dunno someone give me some good answers please.

You've heard the saying if its not broke why try to fix it. Well I say it would be more productive for you to bring the subject up with your husband and see what he thinks. Let him know you are concerned he will need to deal with these issues some time and maybe now would be a good Idea. Although I know there are people that have been physically and sexually abuse that have never sought help from a doctor and they have lived their life fine. My mother for one, she just said it happened and thats it. She is a very kind hearted woman and is 80 now. So some people can handle it without any help from a therapist. Please seek help, I don't know where you are, but here we have The Texas Panhandle Mental Health, contact your local department of human resources, they should be able to help. if not get in the yellow pages and look under mental health, hope this helps.
