I am 14 Yrs Old And I Think I Have Depression But I Can't Talk To Anyone, Who Can I Talk To?

Question:
I cannot talk to my parents and i have tried to talk to my friends/teachers/school counsellors but they are no help to me,. i cant open up to anyone and i can't stop Self-harming. please help me! Who can i talk to.. i am scared!!

Answers:
First - before anything, let me tell you it IS scary to be depressed; people who don't have it don't realize it. You can get panicked and feel like the world is going to end, your heart starts racing, you want to crawl out of your skin? and to avoid those feelings you just become unfeeling about everything. Anxiety and depression go hand in hand and they are both scary things that make you feel separate from other people especially at your age. So don't feel alone. If anything write to me anytime. I literally wrote the book on depression, anxiety and all other "crazy" things that people won't talk about. This is going to sound weird, but do you have friends? With Mothers? If you can't talk to your mom, who s the coolest Mom you know? Or who is the craziest Mom you know? They will know what you're talking about. The counselors at school aren't neccessarily trained in recognizing this; do you have a student advocate at school? This is someone who may not even get paid, but works to show kids like you how to get the help they need. How to get through the system. If you are truly depressed, and I'm guessing that with self harm you are - you need professional help, and do not be ashamed or weirded out by asking a Dr for help. There is no sense at all, AT ALL, in living a life of depression, fear, self mutilation, and the constant unknown when you can get help. There are support groups for people your age, and it could be that just identifying the underlying problem solves it! But you won't know unless the right people get involved. PLease write if want help..thru Answers I won't know you, so it wouldn't embarrass you at all.

GO TO YOUR PARENTS IMMEDIATELY!

go to yahoo messenger and make friends there. at first you might find some weirdos and youd have to ignore them but youll eventually wind up with good people. (like me, lol) If one person won't listen or help go to another, some one will help you.

Go see your doctor, go to an emergency room, go to a mental health clinic. These people will listen.
You have taken the first step, you realize you need help.
Good Luck

Okay Dude Firstly of all Write a letter to ur parents.secondly do you have any other reletives or a girlfriend/Boy friend/ best friend? if so tell them and they might ask someone like their older brothers/sisters for advice.Personally i think you should see your Uncle or Aunty o(¬_¬)o Surely there is someone who will listen to you. A grandparent, an aunt or uncle.one of your friend's parents who seem to be very loving and caring. If all else fails and you are in the US I would call the crisis center hotline.they do care.are trained for just this type of thing and will get you help.

Look in your local phone book for counselling services. Hopefully you can find the right person to talk to. Good luck and keep trying.

you have to talk to your parent.. or.. you can chat with me anyway ^_^

boystown.org 1-800-448-3000 I am presuming you are in USA? do you have a phone service like we do here in Australia called Lifeline, where you can talk to someone, you can stay anonymous, and they will help you in the short term, and guide you to where you go or what you do next for further help. Do you have a doctor you can talk to? even a different one from your usual, if you are concerned about privacy.
I am really concerned for you, and wish there was something I could do. PLEASE give some sort of counsellor another chance, maybe you have to build up a sense of trust first.

God bless you, you will be in my prayers tonight

Try this:

http://www.teenforce.net/

Listen, if you are not comfortable talking with your parents, don't force it. Its generallly something you would do to increase the connectivity between you, but that is something that needs to happen at your faith and at your appropriate time.

Try the above link. There may be people on-staff willing to take you through the first steps of what you are going through.

If you have thoughts of hurting yourself, please call a hotline or emergency room:
http://suicidehotlines.com/national.html

When the time comes for you to talk to your parents, let it happen. You won't regret it, but you need to have someone on your side that you can lean on should your trust in opening up becomes violated in some way. If you don't have someone close by you can talk to, you will be further depressed.

If you think you are being plauged by bad spirit, and believe me I don't doubt the existance of it, see if an organization like this can help, but first try the other links I gave _first_. You'll be served better and more in-depth by them.

What a Friend We Have in Jesus

1.What a friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer.

2.Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
take it to the Lord in prayer.

3.Are we weak and heavy laden,
cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In his arms he'll take and shield thee;
thou wilt find a solace there.
