Is there anyone else taking effexor xr?

Question:
I am taking this medication for deppresion(300mg daily)I was wondering if there was another medication that I can take that goes well with effexor.I will ask my doctor but was wondering if someone else out there takes effexor and another med and they have done wonders for YOU?

Answers:
I have a best friend on effexor and it has worked wonders. She has no need for any other meds. This one medicine effects two different chemicals so it is all that is needed. Hope this helps. Check out this site: http://www.effexorxr.com/

My mom takes and says it works really well alone but if she misses a dose that she feels like she has the flu

Are you aware that the maximum dose of Effexor XR approved by the FDA is 225 mg?? You can combine SSRIs for a greater effect, but it's a very bad idea to pick one based on the experiences of others (not to mention that you need a prescription anyway). I really recommend that you disregard any advice here and talk to your doctor. If he/she is just a general physician, you might consider getting a referral to a psychiatrist, who will know much more about the effects of combining medication, or may switch you to another one altogether. Good luck! I take 150mg daily, the only other meds I take at the same time are for HBP and water retention. I've hade great days with EffexorRX . Sorry I cant be of much help, but thought I'd give EffexorRX a hands up.

I was taking Effexor and it was making me forget things and have a really bad sex life.It was also making me think weird things. I wish I could tell you about something good that went with that, but it was causing me more depression.Good Luck!

i take that with 300mgs wellbutrin daily it helps

I take 375mgs of effexor xr, along with 80mgs of prozac, and 100mgs of Seroquel in the morning. I also take 350mgs of Trazodone and 400mgs of Seroquel at bedtime, and .25mgs of xanax every 4 hours as needed.
