how can people erase painful memories?
Question:
Answers:
I'm not sure if there is a medical way. but you know what? painful memories are quite helpful in molding yourself into a stronger person. it's just a matter of mind setting, i know it's not that easy but you just have to work that way.
time can heal those painful memories of yours. For now, you just have to learn how to appreciate the beauty of life. Try to appreciate your friends and family, spend some time with them. try to be happy, treat your self nice rather than stay in one corner and cry.
besides, how can you tell what's happiness if you dont not know pain? ^ ^

I only know you have to live with them and accept them.. from what I know, there's nothing you can do.
counseling u do not erase them, u slowly forget.
I dont think so, just medication for depression is all I know about
Not by drugs, unless you want to be in a catatonic state instead.
Time will lessen their impact, but if you are hanging on to them then counselling might be worthwhile. You need to learn to stop these incidents/people still having power over you down the years.
No. With a counselor (especially someone trained in EMDR), you can learn to de-sensitize your emotional response to memories so that they are no longer painfull. Listen to good music of your choice. Try to gossip with friends, surf the net, log in to friendship sites as I am doing right now!
It`s called "verbalisation".It involves speakng and writing the unpleasant memories to those who read.
We can earase painful memories by no caring about that thing or get busy in some oter activities so that the thought will not come in mind.
the is no erasure, unless the event was initially so catastrophic the brain blots it from memory the instant it occurs. Unfortunately, this usually leads to long-term comatosis.
Only thing to do is try to find closure, live with it, and move on.
Sorry kid.
Electric Shock Therapy is the only thing that I can think of off the top of my head. (no pun intended) Have you tried self-hypnosis? I dont think you can erase memories, but it may help you deal with them..
Decide to yourself, it's life that's why they call it a learning experience, so let the old water flow on down the stream and get excited about meeting new people, get out more often, have some fun for a change and stop sitting there waiting for the LOSER to call, if you can't then call me I'll help you bury the body!
Bad news: you can't erase bad memories.
Good news: you can learn to deal with them and you can create more good moments and good memories that will over power and out number the bad memories so you will remember the bad less and the good more.
Self empowerment comes in many forms. Don't let the bad memories define you. You are more than one event in your life.
not think about them,
Try to engage yourself into meaningful activities. Let ur mind get carried away with the things u r doing. Don't think about negative think about the positive rather. Think tomorrow. Don't think yesterday or last week. Involve in sports is a gd way too =) In whatever competive sports, when concentration is high, u r less likely to think of something else. Because u r only thinking about winning.
Or have a close somebody u can trust. Listen to solutions. If all that doesn't work, u need to seek professional help.
A professional somebody is perhaps most approprate person to approach because they truely knows what they r dealing with.
Yes, it is possble to ERASE whole set of memories through regular practice of intense BREATH excercises and YOGA under the supervision of a YOGA MASTER/ GURU.
Gud Luck to you.
You can't and shouldn't erase your memories. You will possibly need to refer back to them as to the type of person NOT to be.
I have become a very loving person after my father tried to beat it out of me. Hahahaha he failed!
