I'm not sure about seeing, but hearing yes. Hearing is the last thing to go.
NO, thats hollywood. No one recovers froma true coma. To much brain damage.
I have had patients tell me they remember conversations that took place during their comas. I have never heard of any one that see things that happen during a coma. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
It is not true in many cases. I have worked in a hospital and a nursing home and have seen some of the patients come out of coma and not remember anything that happened. They were in very deep sleep, and they might have had a lot of dreams, but they had no clue of what was going on.
Absolutely! When you work in a hospital, there are guidelines that you're NEVER to discuss anything personal or negative around a patient that is in a coma because even though it may not be obvious, it is still possible for them to hear you.
well take it from someone who has been in one, you can hear EVERYTHING you jus cant see. but if you kno the voices then you'll recognize the people. but you hear it all though. when you came out you don't remember much of what happened before the incident. its all kind of a blur. but after everyone tells you what happened over and over again things slowly come back!
yea.,..guess so
they cant see when in coma niether hear
My uncle was in a coma for almost 1 week after an accident. He had brain swelling and multiple surgeries. His mother and brother nearly turned off his life support after getting caught up in the drama and pessimistic life they lead.
My husband and I went to see him on about the 5th or 6th day (after they left) in ICU. We spent a lot of time with him, my husband was telling him jokes, I was talking to him and his eyes opened just a little bit - his eyes foll wed me but he couldn't communicate.
The doctors and nurses brushed it off but I knew he was in there.
I told him to just be very patient and rest until his body is ready for him to wake up and is able to communicate, however long that takes.
We massaged his arms and legs to keep fluid from building up.
I am very pleased to say that after sustaining a head injury that should have killed him or at the very least rendered him severely disabled he is in Great health and his brain is still very intelligent - and cheeky like he always was.
Never underestimate the power of positive energy and love for those who mean the most to you.
Did he hear/remember - yes!
Was he lucky - probably also yes - but never give up on someone...
