My son has OCD and everyone has to be patient with his ways. There are somethings we just can't control and if you are the one with OCD and want help.seek help. If you love someone with OCD be patient and understand that they most likely are frustrated and want understanding.
go see a doctor at mental health; talk to him and be honest; tell him exactly whats going on. then he will put you on medications to help you.
OCD is NOT the same thing as OCPD. Don't get the two confused. They are TOTALLY different disorders and are not related. I wonder though if you actually have OCPD and not OCD. People with the personality disorder usually aren't bothered by it but it ruins their relationships with other people so they seek therapy. If it is bothering you then it may actually just be OCD.
OCD includes obsessions which are anxiety causing which lead to compulsions which temporarily relieve the anxiety. For example handwashing, repetitive checking, counting, hoarding things etc. OCPD is a personality disorder which revolves around an obsession with most if not all things being a certain way. For example some neat freaks are like this. they can't stand things being messy because it just HAS to be clean. Not because messes make them anxious. They just must have things their way which is usually ridiculously meticulous. They set up their life so that all things in it have to happen or be in a predetermined way or they will get angry or upset until things go the way they want. I hope this clears things up.
I would recommend trying to find a good psychotherapist you like and if necessary a good psychiatrist you like. You need to get properly diagnosed and treated. Good luck!
Hi Heron! Try a creative outlet such as painting, drawing, etc.Try to choose something that incorporates as many of your senses as possible. If people don't have a creative outlet, pent up energy begins to turn inward onto oneself. Try it and let me know how it worked.
Please go and see a psychiatrist as there are effective medications for OCD.
