What do you think about Effexor XR, Do you take it & how has it worked for you?

I have been on it "this time" for about 4 months. Definite difference!
Before, I was on it, I think about 3 years.
My FIRM BELIEF! is that when on ANY medication, THEY ARE NOT CURE ALLS! They are NOT a solution to any problem.
When taking anything, you should also be in therapy to work on the reasons you are on the medication in the first place.
Without working on your thinking, beliefs & behaviors, you are only "quieting" the problem
You really, after time, will not see or feel much of a difference because the ROOT of the problem is not being dealt with.. YOU.

Hello,my opinion over the SSRI antidepressants are they are really workable,and successful for treating depression,and mental condition(anxiety etc) associated with it.As to the Effexor XR,which contains Fluvoxamine as an active ingredient depends from which point of view. Relatively,EffexorXR or Effectin(which contains the same) are more powerful in some aspects than the others from the group( I mean Citalopram,Paroxetine etc.) and it's impact over the severity of the symptoms are easily felt by the patients. Generally it's well tolerated but in some cases in comparison with others has more side effects,like accelerated pulse rate,alteration of the blood pressure,dizziness,sex drive loss,headache etc. Good luck!!
