All Messed Up!!?
Question:
Answers:
ok im not a doctor, but i do suffer from bi polar disorder, formally known as manic depression. for me anyway, anti depressants made me violent, so i would not take anything a doc has not prescribed. there are many mental illness clinics all over the US. i dont know what state you are in, so i cant help you there. if you have to, go to the emergency room, tell them your freakin out, and they will find someone that can help you. no they wont lock you up. i have had thought of suicide, and thoughts of killing peoople, and i have not been locked up. its a normal part of my illness. i have never gone thruogh with any of my thoughts. lithium has helped me tremendously, but only under direct doctor care. it has many horrible side effects, that if adminsitered correctly, can be subsided by raising or lowering dosage, but only a doctor can do that correctly. please, get medical help. forget your family, mine still believe that i'm a spoiled brat, and i only do the things i do for attention. too bad for them, that they will never get to know the real me. too bad for them, that someday they may have an affliction, and no one will be there for them either. take care of yourself, and pray. find jesus, because he is the only one that can help you get through this terrible journey of getting better that you are about to embark on. its a bumpy road, but when you get past the dark side of it, its wonderful on the light side. its worth it, i promise!

yes talk to your boss, if your boss is a professional, there should be no discussion of what you say to him/her! he or she may know of some avenues you could take, like a local church
good luck to you!
Call 911 immediatly
wow! you have a lot to deal with. you should tell you work. maybe they will cut you some slack. see another doctor. i don't understand Why you cant. tell then about your panic attacks, you might need some mental help. maybe your by polar, all i can say is you need a new doc. remember its not the end of the world. take a deep breath and count to 10. good luck sorry your going through such a tough time.
Manic/depressive or bi-polar condition is very treatable.. untreated results in symptoms as you have described.. if you are unable to get treated by a qualified psychiatrist, do as suggested and go to the emergency room and get some help. Life is too short to have to agonize with the symptoms, when it is something that can be treated.
It does not matter what your family believes in. You need help and you need to go get it.
If you are seeing your family Dr for your medication, he's not the right Dr to be seeing.
Go, or call 911 and have them take you to your local mental health hospital / center. You are suicidal and that will enable you to get the help you need RIGHT NOW!
To Thine Own Self Be True !
Why can't you get another doctor? You need to call a psychiatrist. If you're not sure how to find one, call your current doctor and ask for a referral. When you call the psychiatrist, tell them it's urgent. If you mention that you've had suicidal thoughts, they should get you an appointment right away. I can't think of any reason that you can't find another doctor to help you.
There are plenty of different kinds of medication that can help you. Try to be patient, don't let your family stop you from seeking help. A lot of people don't understand mental illness - but it does exist. You WILL be okay, don't give up. As far as your boss goes, I would perhaps tell him that you have a personal/health problem that you need to handle. See if you can talk to a doctor first, they can write a note explaining that you need time off. You may need to talk to someone in your human resources department (if possible). Just explain to your boss that you have this issue and you realize it may be affecting your work - tell him that you need to resolve it so that you can be 100% again at work. Your boss/HR should understand. Good luck to you.
In your state, I would go straight to the hospital or to a psychiatric emergency clinic and tell them what you said here.
It may very well be what you have to do in order to start getting your situation dealt with properly. Don't worry about work - they cannot legally fire you if you end up in the hospital for this kind of thing.
