networking in psychiatry to get the record of patients?
Question:
Answers:
Seems like one for the lawyers to decide..
it would either be a conflict of interest or doctor patient confidentiality issue to contend with.. As a patient I would want to have full authority to make the decisions reguarding my personal file.. and the ability to pick and choose who sees it on a 'case by case' basis..
I do not, under any circumstances, want my life history in the wrong (untrusted) hands. Perhaps identity theft would also be a valid concern?
I can't see how this wouldn't be a popular opionion among those of us that have spent more time on a counselors couch that I would ever care to confess to. especially to a stranger that could easily use the information against me without my knowledge.. If my place of employment knew what prescriptions I was on and why I was on them.. I would be shown the door.. and of course substandard work would be the reason to cover it all up.
So, with this in mind, I am against the idea. Other people may have different views?

Sorry, I try to get them from having to go to long term care.
You need to get the person to sign a release of information from any where they have received any kind of professional help. If the patient cannot be of much assistance their mental health caseworker will need to track down as much information as possible.
