anbody have agoraphobia?

Question:

Answers:
I don't but know quite a few people who either do now or have in the past. And that is an important thing.it is quite "fixable." through medication and therapy, agoraphobia is not a final diagnosis, but a point form which to begin treatment. Good luck, if you are asking this to be assisted. Assistance is available and effective!

No, but a friend of mine does, he has claustrofobia too.
I would say so as a symptom of having Asperger Syndrome. I function poorly socially and become overwhelmed easily by all kinds of stimuli, mainly auditory. Since this often refers to larger places (the marketplace in Greek, I think), such as malls and grocery stores, movie theaters and restaurants, I avoid them. I have a major problem with screaming/crying children. I find the noise intolerable and must flee from it. I have become physically aggressive in times when my treatment wasn't working or my meds were off. I even stopped going out into public for 4 years save for my psychiatrist appts. because I could not deal with it. I got a different treatment team, and I really progressed, but they bailed on me last Dec. and I find myself housebound again. I have found new treatment for myself, so I am hoping I will get back what I lost.
Are you agoraphobic? Here is what I learned from being back "out there" again:
Pick your times of day, times of week, if it is sale nite at the mall, you may want to actually waste money and avoid all the people, don't go out on a Friday/Saturday, wait until that movie you've been wanting to see has been out a few weeks, wait to go to a restaurant until the 5-6 pm dinner hour is over.at least until you feel more comfortable branching out. You may not want to go out alone early on. I needed the physical as well as emotional guidance of someone I could trust.
No, I just have all the others. But seriously, systematic desensitization is probably best.
