Yes, it is an illness which can not be cured, but only in some cases controlled. There are no set symptoms that 'you can tell by looking'; that takes professionals. It takes time and energy for family and doctors to arrive at the correct diagnosis. It is time and money that is well spent to help take care of a loved one. The sad part of this illness is that it effects the entire family not just the patient; it is a debilitating illness that has very serious consequences.
