your take on Lexapro?

Question:

I have been on Lexapro for about a year now. I am much of a more stable person on this stuff than when I was not on it. The only problem is that it is very challenging for me to get an erection on Lexapro. Am I the only one? Is there any suggestions for my sexual matter? Signed, 27 yr. old male.

Answers:
I was on Lexapro for awhile, but was taken off because I could not perfprm sexually. It also decreased my appetite dangerously, and gave me severe cases of nausea. I told my doctor and she switched me to Depakote right away, and it has been working much better. I have bipolar disorder, not just depression, so I'm not sure if it would be right for you. Keep in mind though that there ARE alot of different medications out there, and not all of them have the same side effects.

i am a woman, but yes it causes some sexual disfunction, alot of antidepressants do

I would speak to my doctor about this, above all i would not change my prescribed medications without at least one and perhaps two doctors opinions.
