i don't know your particular case, but i live in a gang infested neighborhood myself. my wife was attacked and her life threatened by crackheads. after never owning a gun for all my life, i decided it was time to get one. buy something from a reputable gun dealer, make sure it's legal in your area, take the time to learn all about it and practice with it. if you have carry conceal laws you may want to apply for the permit and of course take the needed training. this should bring you a little peice of mind knowing you aren't going to be an easy target and a pushover in the event you are harrassed. it might sound extreme to some, but if you lived where i lived you'd understand why i did this.

The best solution would be to move. Is there any possibitity you could rent out your place and find somewhere else? Even a tiny room in a decent neighbourhood would be better
get a baseball bat and go and beat the little fuckers up, make sure you really hurt them,then you should get respect
