Is Ativan ever prescribed for detoxing off of Klonopin?

Question: I know it can be used for alcohol withdrawal, it is just that as a RN student, I am working with a client who is prescribed an ativan detox regimen, but i saw nothing in the chart about ETOH abuse/dependence. Did I miss something, or is it also used for detoxing off of Klonopin?

Why would you try to detox off one drug with one almost exactly like it? They are both benzodiazapins. The normal detox off this stuff is a gradual cut down, not a substitution. So no, it is not used to detox off Klonopin.

no i would say it should be the other way around coinsidering ativans half lifeunless the guy ate up all his klonipin and the doc is titrating him off with ativan some docters are idiots klonapin should be titrated with klonipin yea this idiot doc has the half life of these drugs aparently mixed up.any more drug questions you ever have email me lazyrieger@yahoo.com
