They are not reversible conditions.
Sleep is important for the brain. Nuerologists think that sleep is where our brain repairs damage (especially in the 1st 4 hrs), after that we have to dream. Dreams are thought to help us sort through information that we have taken in throughout the day.
Bottom line is, if you don't want to cause brain damage, you must sleep!
YES.Why do you like to harm yourself?Don't be so excited that you neglect your sleep.Take rest. Are you angry on yourself?
yes it is your body needs time to regenerate like if you dont eat your body cant function so if you have insomnia see a doctor and get sleeping pills your body can shut down or you can get sick besides sleeping is your bodys time to process your day and help your brain to be able to function the best way possible lack of energy and sleep can cause all types of discomfort to your body>>
I think it depends why you are trying to stay awake. I stay awake the night before I have therapy because I don't take my medication and this allows me to feel more the next day. HOWEVER, as soon as I get home from therapy I sleep.
Intention always decides if something is self harm.
Someone eating sugar when they are diabetic can be consided self harm if they do it to push their blood sugar level too high hoping to pass out or require medical attention. A diabetic eating sugar because they want a candy bar is not self harm.

The question is why would you force yourself to go without sleep. Do you engage in other behaviors that can be harmful? Not sleeping for three days or more can cause significant concentration problems, disorientation, auditory and visual hallucinations and paranoia. It seems to me that there's a bigger picture going on here.
Yes, you are hurting your body.
