Anyone out there on Zoloft?

Question:
I've been taking Zoloft for a month now and I think that it may be what's making it harder for me to sleep. I can stay asleep for as long as I used to, it's just that I have more trouble falling asleep, and feel like a need less sleep than usual.

Answers:
I definitely agree with the above. I used to be on Zoloft and it worked fine for me. My moods were alot more stable, and I think it even helped my memory to a certain extent. But another person I know got completely paranoid while using Zoloft and eventually couldn't even leave their house. Just be careful with any drug, as everyone does react differently. And if you think it isn't having a positive reaction, talk to the doctor. Describe the changes and see what else is available.

Other Answers:
it could be because you have more energy then you used to, i used to take it but never felt like that, so im not sure what your feeling...but if you cant get 8 hours of sleep you should talk to your doctor about taking something else
I take it a few hours before bed time.
I was on Zoloft, and it seemed to work for me after a couple of weeks, my problem was that I couldn't stop drinking. Medication is only effective if you take it properly. If you were prescribed Zoloft, try to just stick it out for awhile, they say it takes over a month for it to take full effect anyway. The side effects, like lack of sleep, will eventually go away.
anti depressant will have different effects on different people primarly because of body chemistry ( fact ) some of them will make you hyper such as wellbutrin prozac etc causing you to have many restless nights till youre body adapts to it or your doctor
puts you on something else remember doctors dont always know your body reaction since they are not the ones taking it communicate with doctor very important ---------good luck
Hey,

How long have you been taking Zoloft?

It does have some side effects in the early satges.. bear with it for a month and see how you go.. (Also the side effects can differ for different people.).

If all else fails there are a whole range of SSRI's out there to try, so don't stress too much.. see your doctor if side effects persist and i'm sure you'll be able to sort it all out.

NB: DO NOT stop taking the medication without consultation with a doctor.

Good luck :)
