Everyone hates you?

there is this kid i know that thinks everyone hates him. Should i tell him it's not true even if it is?

I would bring down the truth as I saw it. If everyone at school/work/wherever actually does hate him because he is an obnoxious jerk, tell him that. But, also nicely recommend ways to improve social skills and etiquette.

On the other hand, some people are just hated for no good reason. If that's the case, tell him to keep on being himself.

Many used to think he was the anti-christ and hated him but he is his own man. Everyone must have figured that he was an idiot when he dropped out of Harvard. He is a college drop-out.
