I wake up at about 3.30am and then back to sleep again after an hour, this has been going on for a few months,

Question:
I don't know what to do, can anyone help me please?

Answers:
Maybe something is waking you up?

The same thing used to happen to me and I found out it was neighbours front door shutting as he got home from a Night Shift every morning at about 5.00.
Have a calm hour before going to bed - maybe a soak in the bath
Exercise heavily prior to that so you go to bed tired
Don't drink much prior to bed time
No caffeine in the evening
Make sure all windows are shut, curtains heavily drawn; maybe use ear plugs?
Try a light herbal sedative?
And maybe going to bed later than normal.

In essence, you body has gotten into a habit that you need to try and break.

These may help

Otherwise, it will probably just go away.
Do you take naps? are your sleeping habits (aside from the wakingup part) abnormal?

I would suggest no eating 4 hrs before sleep and before you go to sleep, a glass of warm milk. Try to sleep the same time everynight, sleep for 6 to 8 hrs and eat normally so you arent out of energy, which may lead to naps. It helps your body to set a consistant sleep schedule.

also, it may be your bed. I just recently got a 2inch thick memory foam (bday present) and holy cow, I sleep like a baby.
You are slightly stressed, or excited about something.

Even if you go to bed late you still wake up.

You could cut down on coffe and tea, and maybe drink water or milk instead at night.

Do not concern yourself about when you go to bed try to forget about it. If you wake up, just think of the positive side, like heheheehe I can go back to sleep for a few hours before I have to get up.
you must have something on your mind. have you ever tried any of the herbal sleeping pills you can buy over the counter such as nightall
