If you google depression help you'll find a lot of sites listing a fuller explanation of the signs of depression, but the basics are as follows:
A feeling of being apart/isolated/different, often even when you're with 'friends'
Not enjoying things that you used to.
A change of sleep habits -- either sleeping a lot more or not being able to sleep much.
A change in eating habits -- eating all the time or not eating.
Thoughts of suicide (duh)
Feeling useless/ not-needed.
Inactivity, sometimes this is coupled with bursts of intense activity.
withdrawing from friends/family
Not being able to focus could be a factor, but seeing 'things' isn't a standard sign. It could be related, a manifestation of a fear at the core of depression, or it could be related to an entirely different issue.
Lack of focus could also be caused by ADD, stress, or a lack of certain nutrients.
Since everyone and their reasons are different, the signs are not the same for everyone, if you're concerned you're depressed, you should talk to a professional. Heck, talk to someone anyway, it won't hurt you.
