At first it made me sleepy -- very sleepy. Then my body adjusted and I get a good nights rest instead of laying in bed each night with my mind reeling. Also it has negative sexual side effects -- lowers the libido and greatly reduces ability to reach orgasm.

The other replies describing anger, agitation, irritation, jitters and worsened depression are effects I experienced with Wellbutrin XL -- it was AWFUL. I imagine that is how suicidal people must feel right before they commit.

I have also tried Lexapro, which seemed to not really do anything. I say if you are seeking help stay in close contact with your doctor and monitor your effects by writing them down and ask someone whom you trust to monitor you too -- might be hard to hear, but it is necessary for your best health to be totally honest with how these meds are affecting you.

Lastly, when you switch back and forth or try something new -- you need to give your body and the medication time to do what they do. Again, keep in close contact with your doctor to work out what is best to meet your individual needs. Best wished.
