Jeolousy is either "Useful or Destructive", how do you see it?

Question:
Does it reflect on your up bringing or logic of genes, or society in general?

Answers:
A little jealousy can be a positive thing when it is caused by a lack adaisical treatment of a spouse or child. It can make a person wake up and say hey not with my loved one you aren't.
but most of the time it is an emotion than brings about a violent reaction in people for no good reason. It is an irrational kind of emotion that is present in all people ,but more so with those who have a self-esteem problem and are highly competitive. It can make a persons spouse totally miserable in trying to not make their spouse jealous because they are suspicious and over bearing about it.

Other Answers:
destructive.it comes from society in general!

Destructive. Society is so retarded. It can go in either direction. It can be bad or good.I have a very jealous wife of 23 yrs

Jealousy is useful if the two exercising it are utilizing it in a playful and responsible way. Neither is going to far and both are secure in their position with the other. No insecurity is the key.

Jealousy is destructive other wise.
One of the 7 deadly sins.

Be Careful.

Jealousy comes from two things.
Not trusting your mate to make the right decision or your own fears of inadequacy.
I think is it very immature. I love my husband and trust him. I'm comfortable with myself so I don't feel threatened by other women. I'm not perfect, far from it. But I have alot to offer my husband and I know without a doubt, I'm a great wife.

I have never thought of it as useful. I see it as a very destructive behavior. I can only relate to myself but it definitely wasn't my upbringing. Logic of genes.. maybe? Society does play a big part in it for me. Jealousy is destructive. How can an emotion that require's so much of a person's time and mental capacity be productive?
It also has nothing to do with one's up bringing.I think that it's a society defict. For we do live in a throw away society.

Both, thats the reason why the world revolves. Jealousy helps individuals thrive for success especially when they see their rivals getting ahead of the game. But it can be destructive in the sense that the individual concentrates on only one thing and ignores the things around them which can have a negative impact on their lives.
