An adult adhd question...?

Question:
Can medication alone work 100%on the behavior on a person with this condition? Or therapy & coaching are esential for the meds. to be succesfull. Is the adhd trait still show after taking the meds.?

Answers:
No medication fixes it all...If this is a new diagnosis then it would be VERY beneficial for this individual and close family members to ALL get counseling(it is rare that only ONE family member has ADD in any of it's many forms)...or if there has never been any counseling...a life of dealing with this w/o meds and then getting meds...well, think about it. You have all the coping mechanisms in place(whether good or bad) and now you have to develope new ones as do the family and friends of the individual...no one likes for things to change we all want what we recognize even if it is not that good so it is only natural for everyone to resist to varying degrees...good luck...
Both really seem to be more appropriate.

Just rely on you inner feelings, and use good judgment.

Trust a good friend to keep you in check, and keep sharing.

good luck
OK, Before you get the wrong idea, I AM STRICTLY AGAINS SCIENTOLOGY, But recently attended a museum in LA that kind of touched certain points...... Depending on the severity of the ADHD, each case is different. I would suggest (and this is purely a suggestion) that you see how the coaching and therapy work without Medication, and then see where it goes. Those drugs are really harmful and are right up there with more known drugs such as Cocaine, so maybe non medicated alternatives should be thought about before jumping the gun......
