I think it can. I have not had nightmares, yet. But my dreams are very vivid. Sometimes it's hard to tell if something happened or if it was a dream.. :)

IF IT PERKS YOU UP OR PUTS YOU TO SLEEP IT CAN

I think so. I was on Paxil, a similar drug, and it gave me nightmares so bad I had to go off it. I don't know but I recently started taking Lexapro and had one hellacious dream. I've been on it for three weeks now and it's the first dream I've had.

It definitely can, my mom was having them right after she started taking it.

I have been dreaming more. Check out remedyfind.com and click on the Depression link to the left just above diabetes. Then scroll down and click on Lexapro. 900+ people have rated/commented on lexapro. You may find something there. Are you on 10 or 20 mg? Also, lexapro is under generalized anxiety.

I took lexapro for about a year, and I can remember having some strange dreams from time to time. It is interesting that you shine light on this subject. I hadn't ever thought about the connection between the two. I work with several doctors that per scribe anti depressants, and I will be asking them about this. I will get back to you tomorrow. When I was on Lexapro, I had very vivid dreams. They felt very real.
