Anxiety and Intelligence: Is there a relationship?

Question: I suffer from GAD and was wondering if this mental illness has a connection with one's intellect. I often feel stupid because of this challenge. Can anyone shed any light on this? I've done some research and have discovered that many great writers, musician, and artist have suffered from some kind of mental illness.

While I feel encouraged with this news I'm still looking for a silver lining.

don't worry yourself.i suffer from anxiety and i also have an above average IQ.individual people have individual circumstances.i doubt there's any direct correlation

Anxiety and emotion! The intellect is separate from that except for interaction between emotion and intellect.
