No way. You can get over the counter sleeping pills for more than that. Even a "low" dose Paxil is 30mg. It's ok not to much.

As far as Xanax, and not xanax-xr, yes it is, the largest in one dosage, .25 mg, .50 mg, 1 mg,..2 mg! This is used for more extreme cases of anxiety disorders, panic attacks, etc.
I have taken Xanax for the most part of 4 years. I started with the same dosage I take now-0.5mg up to 3xs daily. Although, I think it depends on the person and how they react to certain meds including what other meds you are taking. Decreased caffeine and/or food intake causes the Xanax to affect me greater.
