How do I know if I have Dyscalculia?

Question:
I have a really hard time with math, ever since I was little, and I make little mistakes. It takes me a REALLY long time to learn even the easy stuff. I also have had a really hard time with things that should come really easy to me by now (time, money change, etc.) I am a junior in high school. If somone could tell me please?? The tests are really expensive, like 500-200 dollars...is there a cheap way to find out. (I have tried every test strategy possible....no improvement). PLEASE???

Answers:
Yes, you do. I don't know where you live, but your school should have a special ed dept. to help you. They are SUPPOSED to test you. It's their responsibility. My son has it and it's the same with him. A calculator will help for tests and such. It is still difficult for him and he's 20. Even the making change thing.
When he's out on his own, he'll have to have someone help him with things like paying bills, balancing check book etc. If you're still in high school, I am really outraged that none of your teachers has suggested testing for you. You should be on an IEP. Individual Education Plan.
Ask your math teacher if they can help you out, they may be able to answer your question as to whether or not you have it, or recommend a cheap/free test. Maybe your school has something you can use to find out!
