Starting with the obvious, they distract you from walking or driving and can have fatal consequences.
Not so obvious is the fact that they alter your blood chemistry. You are subjecting your cells in your head/ear/brain/eyes/mouth to extremely high vibrations at very close proximity. Like most things toxic, while it may not have any noticible effect immediately, over time the cumulative effect could be less than desireable. Say for example, brain cancer, or Leukemia.
What to do? If you must use a cell phone, keep it as far away from your head as possible, also, get a phone with speaker phone, and use that as often as possible, also limit the time you talk on a cell phone, use a landline instead.
If you do use a mobile phone, you should try to have ear phones.
