Narcissistic Personality Disorder?
Question:
Answers:
Yes I have known people with this disorder. There is no point in trying to get through to them or to have any kind of give and take relationship. If it isn't all about them, they don't hear it.
My aunt is this way. I just had to decide that if I chose to be around her, I'd overlook her complete and total self-absorption. It hasn't been so easy for my cousin, her daughter. My aunt gave my cousin away when she was twelve to her ex-mother-in-law so that she could marry a wealthy man who wanted no children around. And my cousin still speaks to her. Says a lot about my cousin, a very positive statement. The ex-mother-in-law must have cared for my cousin well.
Just go on about your life and find love and understanding from other people. You won't get it from your father.

My 2nd husband was diagnosed as being Narcissistic. He looked out for only himself. He was an alcoholic and abusive. When on probation he said no one had the right to tell him what to do. He was arrested 3 times for domestic violence against me.He thought women were inferior and look down on women. You could not correct him or even give him constructive criticism. He literally;;y at times would say there is no power higher then him(he was an atheist). He is a crew chief over a large roofing company and he screams at the guys if they don't do exactly what he wants them to do or when he wants it done.Needless to say I left him in Florida and moved 1200 miles away.
