I used to have this problem-particularly with schoolwork. As a young adult after much reflection I found it was a control issue-I foolishly was trying to make the world evolve around MY schedule. As life went on, what with marriage, kids, work, being partner in a business, church, I couldn't afford to procrastinate anymore. What helped me break the habit was first thing in the morning make a list of everything I needed to do for the day. Then I would cross off the unimportant stuff. As I went along during the day, I would line out what was done. I discovered that finishing was good positive feedback. I didn't beat myself up if I didn't get everything on the list done. I can't tell you how long it took to change the habit, it was a process. Eventually you won't have to make a list-your mind will be trained to know what's important to get done. I still make lists, though, if I have a lot of errands to do around town, by creating a "map" of stops. Makes the best use of time & car.

I wish you all the best in changing your habit. If I could do it, you can too. I was the WORST!!
