I need to talk to someone who self injures?

Question:
It would be best if its someone who/used to cuts, please talk to me about that

Answers:
What exactly do you want to know?
It starts usually in the teen years as a coping mechanism to help rid yourself of intense feelings that are difficult to understand. it is not a suicide attempt, but rather a scream for help, even if you don't conciously know it. it is an addictive behavior that will increase in infrequency and severity if you do not seek help. a majority of cutters are female. and a very large percentage were abused as children(physically, sexually,or emotionally). It feels good to the cutter because when they cut it is not to experience the physical pain but to get the "high" that comes with it. when you cut the brain releases endorphins that are the body's natural pain killer and you may feel an senseof relief from your psychological pain, but as I mentioned--like drugs you become used to the rush and it takes deeper or more cuts to get the same effect.
my name is wild&free and i am a cutter. it's been 7 weeks since my last cut. Seriously, it is very difficult to stop, but you need to find the source of your pain. my source was memories of abuse from childhood that i had buried. find a good counselor and talk it out. there is something deep that you are trying to cut away. visit your family Dr. and explain what's happening. they will be able to reccomend a counselor or a psychiatrist that will help. Don't be afraid they have heard it before and will not judge you as a freek. you need to also find a support system--friends, family, clergy or anyone who will listen and help you through this. call them if you have the urge to cut. if you haven't started cutting but are thinking about it don't start!! it is very difficult to stop and you will always carry the scars you inflict upon your body. Don't try to do this alone, you need others to support you. there are web sites that deal with this behavior. just search under self injury or self mutilation (i hate that phrase). Good Luck and God Bless.
I don't do it but I knew alot of people who do..Its a way of being able to control your pain...Emotional pain is something that hurts you from within and you can't get it to stop...so you cut yourself because you know the bleeding will stop..and you know that you are the one causing yourself pain. So you do it because you are in control of your feelings. Everyone has thier own escape from reality sometimes...but the best thing to do is not do it and try to figure out other ways of solving your problems.
