i don't know what area you are in but in australia you can get onto the site for ''beyond blue'' .this is an organisation made up of drs. and other proffessional medics who can help your friend
In Illinois, the county health dept. has psychologists on staff and they bill by what the patient is able to pay, based upon income. it's free below a certain income level. idk if other states do that or not, but it's worth checking into
I think that each county has a mental health office. Try to look up mental health in your local phone book and see if they can direct you to the right place. You might also try calling your local hospital and ask them where she can go and talk to someone. Explain to them that she does not have insurance but that she really needs to talk to someone and they should be able to help you.

there is an 800 number posted there. You didn't say she was from the US. There are other centers in Australia and the UK. You can find them by doing a search using the terms - schizophrenia AND helpline

And she needs to stay on those medications. She "feels better" without the medications but she doesn't know how she feels and what's good for her.
Her outlook is BLEAK if she won't stay on her medications. And I'll tell you something else -- she's lying to her doctor about taking her prescriptions.
