i am on wellbutrin xl as i speak. it works, but only to some degree, for me. however, it doesnt make me as depressed as it would be if i were off of it. i feel a lot more better with it, and it is the most effective and efficient anti-depressive medication that i have ever been on, since the 8 years i have been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder. as for stopping the use of it, DO NOT. ask your doctor what you should do to get off of it, if thats what you wish. for some medicines, it is very bad for you to suddenly stop taking them. if you are trying to get away with taking it, secretly, you shouldnt do it. again, talk to your doctor about getting off of it, if that is what you wish. i hope the very best for you.

welbutrin worked but it wasn't the new welbutrin XL. DO NOT STOP TAKING IT COLD TURKEY. that can mean soemthing bad. talk to your doctor before you stop taking your meds.

I was on a it a couple years ago. I switched to it from Prozac because the sexual side effects of Prozac were brutal. I liked it and it was nice to have my sex drive back. Nothing happened when I suddenly stopped taking it - just the normal effects of going off any anti-depressants (ie. feeling more like 'yourself') then you'll be SICKBUTRIN XS IF YOU STOP TAKING IT .

I think the way this is started is you take X amount for a week and then build up to the therapeutic dose. If that is the case, check with your doctor of course, you could do the reverse to get off the medication. BUT MAKE SURE, but just don't stop - that could be very dangerous.

I take Welbutrin XL plus Effexor and Adderal. Welbutrin is not a vary aggressive drug so you could expect to walk around with a cloud over your head. Drug trials are the pits. Don't get discouraged as you search for the right fit. You cannot suddenly stop taking it. If you want to stop you must talk to your doctor and get instructions for going of it safely depending on what dose you are on and how long you have been on it.

I know they say not to stop using it cold turkey, but I did anyway and didn't have even one withdrawal symptom. No problems whatsoever. The only difference was that I could actually sleep at night.
