What can i do to help with anxiety?

Question:
I have gone through some pretty violent situations in the past few years. Even though things are stablizing, I am still very jumpy. Any sudden or loud noises or movements make me jump out of my skin. I dont mean to be afraid. Its almost a natural reaction. What can I do to stop it?

Answers:
Breathing exercises.
Try Yoga, that would help you relax.
Keeping calm is key.

Also, get a regular "routine" to practice daily that makes you feel safe, secure. Again, your mind needs to relax, so you have to do things to sooth your thoughts to keep your body from being tense.

Other Answers:
One word..... Xanax
Try and relax with some breathing exercises, or even self hypnosis. Self hypnosis takes you to a place where you are not afraid and anxious such as the beach. It is very relaxing. Try and treat yourself to a bubble bath and some soothing music. Exercising and eating healthy foods also calms your nerves. Try not to drink high energy/caffenated drinks or high in sugar foods. If you continue to feel anxious maybe as a last resort consider some medication. Good luck and try and relax. You are not alone in your struggles!
give an auto suggestion to your mind. train your mind and just prompt it not to be afraid... just tell to your mind, "i shall face it"... takes time for your mind to adjust, but you will get better results. i
Go to a specialize doctor who know about chemical imbalance. That doctor will prescribe you medication to help your anxiety.
relax or go and play video games to make yourself calm..i used to be that way and what i'll do is to play video games with my ps1 and as time passed well i don't know i'm not like "jumpy" or you could listen to music and try to meditate at least 3 a week 1 hour each day or stuff
