How can I dream?
Question:
When people ask me somethin about my dreams I have to tell them I dont dream because I really don't remember any dreams I really ever have. they come maybe once a month, and I'd like for them to come every night, but obviously I'll take any sort of improvement.

Answers:
dreams come during a period of sleep everyone experiences called REM or "rapid eye movement" for many people, for every hour of sleep you get, you may only get 1 minute or less of REM. other people will experience up to 5 minutes or more of REM every hour. during this period, it is said, you dream.
there is a type of fish in Japan that will give you hallucinations in your sleep during REM. most people do not have pleasant hallucinations when they have eaten this kind of fish. some people experience the same effect when they eat pizza, or allot of a greasy type of food. anything that their body doesn’t agree with, but most of the time, it will result in nightmares, instead of dreams.
if you are truly bothered that you cannot remember your dreams, keep a dream journal. right when you wake up is the time you are most going to remember your dreams. during the rest of the day, you will likely forget bits or details of the dream that are sometimes important to the dreams meaning. and once you have forgotten it, sadly, it is gone forever.
I assure you, you do probably dream more than once a month, but many people just like you cannot remember what they have dreamed, and once in awhile might trigger them to remember a part, or all of a dream because of something that happens during the day. (you will see a rabbit in the grass, and then you'll remember chasing a rabbit in your dreams, the night before, or just last night.)
some people dream in only one color, for example, instead of watching a black and white TV, they dream in purple and white, or blue and black.
be grateful you are not plagued with nightmares every night. I know one person that cannot remember when the last time was they actually had a DREAM. everything that happens to them while they sleep is a nightmare. and they can remember sometimes 15 to 20 nightmares just from a single night. these people are often categorized as mentally insane, or even criminal, as they sometimes act on their nightmares.
there is also known, what is called a "night terror" some people who are known as mentally insane, will wake up from one of their dreams/nightmares, and actually see the monster, or whatever it was they just dreamt about, standing in front of them, clear as day. this is only a hallucination, and within minutes of coming out of a deep sleep, this image will disappear or fade, or even walk around a corner or out of a room, out of sight and then disapear, but it is still very disturbing. however, it is quite rare.
but consider yourself lucky you can sleep without being woken up a dozen times or more in a single night because of disturbing dreams. you are very, very lucky.

when you are sleeping, your conscious mind part dreams and you can't remember anything. Maybe some Oh my god, man that **** happens to me too. I never remember any of my dreams - maybe it's the weed
My husband doesn't remember his dreams either, once in a while maybe. Don't worry about it. Some people have nightmares, ya don't want that.
