Serious situation, need advice.?

Question:
There is a little boy in my neighborhood, that shows signs of abuse. I suspect this may be more then physical and could possibly be sexual abuse as well. What are my options to get this child help and is it possible he will harm my own children?

Answers:
Do you have a children and youth agency in your area? If so, call and report the situation. Call the police. Does he go to the same school as your kids? If so, you tell a counselor or nurse at school. Depending on the severity of the abuse, there's a very good chance that the little boy could abuse other kids. Sadly, kids' behaviors sometimes emulate how they're being treated.

Other Answers:
call the human service people in your county... they should be able to check into it! good luck
Call Child Protective Services
You can do this, and they will evaluate the situation.
Why would they hurt your children?
Call and get them help.
you better report this... but also start documenting for the evidence... like pictures, record conversations.. etc.
Call the authorities...you should be able to do it anonymously.
I'm not clear on the laws of the US because they can be so complicated. You could contact social services, but I think you should make an appointment with a psychologist or social worker and tell them the signs/symptoms you see so that they MAY be able to validate your suspicions that way you are not just guessing and they may also be able to advise you on what to do.

The police could also give you some advice as well as social services.

Good luck!
Call your local Social Services child abuse hotline and report anonymously. It is possible he will act out on your child, but it's a 50/50 chance. If he hasn't shown any behavior problems toward other children or animals, it is doubtful. Please call and have them help this poor child. You can remain anonymous and you might save the poor kid's life. Do it now.
call children services and tell them they will come by and do a case study of the situation
Contact child services immediately. There is no way that you can even take a chance and just stand by. I am sure you can remain anonymous.
Child Protective Services. Good luck! It's supposed to be confidential. In my area they leaked my complaint. But sometimes they work toward the good. Maybe they do in your area.
Why are you even asking what to do, call your local social services and they will take your info and you will remain anonymous. They will send some one out to the boy house and do a investigation. If any signs are found and if there is in fact abuse of any kind going on they will take the child or children away from it and get the child as well as the parents help. As for it affecting your children it shouldn't. If they ask questions as to what is going on just explain in the simplest way possible and what you think they will understand. And if any threats are made against your children then get law enforcement involved and put the proper things in place. But like I said you will remain anonymous unless you tell people that you made the report. Good Luck!
i would call child protective services. it will help a lot
just because he shows signs of abuse doesn't mean he is being abused. did you ask the boy if he is being abused? do you have proof? after these ?'s are answered, you should go to the police. i would keep you kids away from the abuser, because he can, at any point, do the same to your kids.
yeah call cps or even the police or go to the station...
do you rather wait and see what happens or help this poor child that needs you, do you really want to ask yourself later if you could of prevent anymore abuse that he or she was getting because no one did nothing.
i would report it to the police asap! this child needs your voice he cannot fend for himself. or call your local hrs so they can intervene as well. not only does the child need help but the abuser
needs help as well. don't hesitate the childs life could be in danger!
I don't know...I'm not an American so I don't know who you should contact...but you SHOULD contact someone--some state authority or something.
First things first, if you suspect abuse you should call this number immediately:

1-800-25abuse That is the DCFS hotline number. It is anonymous but it is important that YOU do it because they are more likely to take a report from the person that has actually seen the sings of abuse first hand. They will ask for detailed information about what you've seen and on how many occasions, etc.

I do not understand why you would ask if he could hurt your children. Just because someone suffers from abuse, this does not mean that they will become an abuser. Certainly don't let your children around the adults in this child's home, but do what you can to help this child. Someone needs to speak up for him.
