Can I see a Nurse?

Question:
I have Bi-Polar disorder. I'm currently seeing a Psychiatrist whose office is an hour and a half away. I'm looking for someone closer but they all seem to be booking into December. However I did find some Psychiatric Nurses who I can see in a few weeks.

What I need to know is can a Psychiatric Nurse write prescriptions? I found two titles one is RNCS and the other is APRN. Can I see either or both of this type of Nurse.

Thanks for your help.

Answers:
Hey im in the same boat of sorts. its gonna take 2 months or so to see a psychiatrist for my meds. but i was told from the place i go i can see a APRN and get my meds. i think they are called nurse practioner. i would call and see. hope this helps.

Other Answers:
I don't believe so but I do think that your current doctor and the nurse can work together and then your doc can call in the scripts for you. If the nurse is a nurse practitioner she can write scripts.

Not Sure call and ask if they can..
