If you think your husband hasn't improved go seek advice from other doctors. See if you can get a referral to your local community mental health center, approach your local hospital and they can at least point you in the right direction, probably give you a few different options.But DON'T EVER GIVE UP YOU DON'T NEED TO LIVE LIKE THIS!

7 years is a long time to be on any SSRI - not just Paxil.
I would think about getting a second doctor's opinion if you can afford it.
If he is unhappy why not switch doctors? they will almost always switch your meds when you switch docors, whatever he does, do not stop taking the meds
