NO. There is medication to control it. Bipolar is another term for manic depressive, and is a mental condition, not a disease.
Mind-altering psychologic neurosurgery is illegal in California. Check out functional neurosurgery on the web. You may find clinical trials. Good luck.
Not that I've ever heard of. Sorry. Only meds.

as of yet, no.......but there are a few things they are working on that looks promising, also have your hormones checked, insist on it, good luck, God Bless. I would expect in all reality that 12 to 20 years from now mental conditions will be eradicated.
unfortunately no...the cause for bipolar disease is still relatively unknown..what we do know is that it's most likely caused by a chemical imbalance of dopamine and seratonin in the brain, which can be regulated by medications.
It is very possible to live a full, happy and complete life with this illness. The illness does make one feel that the brain is damaged at times, but this is not the type of organic damage that surgery can help with. There are problems with neurotransmitters and therefore the brain's communication.
If you have a problem with the line on your phone, it doesn't make sense to repair the hardware.
Mental illness is both physical, mental and spiritual and each aspect influences each other aspect.
The best treatment is to let the medications (pharmacotherapy) work with your thoughts (psychotherapy) and your spirit (recovery), the spiritual side being knowing that you are worthy of happiness and a normal life, nothing fancy.
It doesn't matter whether it is the chicken or the egg with the meds and the other factors, what matters is that they are both present.
