Focus on good things. Start exercising - like walking or something. It really does work if you do it regularly. And also buy yourself stuff every now and then - manicure, tanning bed visits, new clothes, nice meal..
Go see a doctor. I suffer from depression and have to take medication. We always think it's of our own making but it's not it's actually a hormonal imbalance in the brain.
Please see a doctor, it took me ages to get help and I'm glad I did. If you're depressed they can immediately put you on something to "try". I'd suggest reading up on crazymeds.org on the drug he or she prescribes before actually starting it, but give it a shot. It will usually help pull you out.
yes but for me its been 20.. what are you trying to surpress? that is usually the culprit. mine was sexual abuse and i finally after 20 years told my story and i am finding my way through it but you have to find out why you feel this way.
If you are experiencing depression over a period that long, you need professional help. Anyone experiencing depression over a few weeks time period should seek help from their doctor, a psychiatrist or a licensed therapist, even if its only off and on.
Nope.if you have, you may wish to seek the help of a professional.
I had to learn the hard way that sometimes depression is not just in your head. I just always thought It was me. After I spoke to a doctor about it, we found out that it was all due to a chemical imbalance! No wonder I couldn't get out of it on my own! So, with the help of medication, diet, and exersize, I'm doing better than ever and I know if you seek the help, you'll feel great too!
For me, it's been about 6 years. Like another poster mentioned, once you seek help, you will be put on a med to try. I tried 3 others (Prozac, something older, and Zoloft), before I found Wellbutrin worked best for me. I was doing great on it, but sometimes I will forget my meds for about 2 or 3 days in a row, then I find myself in the rut again and need to get back on track with the meds.
I wonder, though, if a body gets used to a med and needs switched from time to time, because the last month or so, I have been getting worse. Sounds like you and I need to get some professional help. Do not ignore it, it will not go away and can become too severe for you to deal with it on your own.
