how does informing the patient on procedures and outcomes of radiation proceduresd improve patient wellness?

Question:
public perceptions of radiation exposure risk

Answers:
Information can give hope. If the tumors are shrinking or if they are at least no growing can be uplifting and make the patient feel as if the negative side effects may be worth it.

If the information is not good, it can give the patient the information necessary to make the decision of whether to stay on track, make their final arrangements or discontinue treatment in favor of quality rather than quantity of life.

Knowledge, either way, is empowering

Other Answers:
Everyone does better if they know what to expect from their treatments. It cuts down on worrying, which will in turn help the patient.
The more a person knows of what is done to them and why takes the mystery and fear of the unknown away. Humans are more afraid of the unknown than the known things in this world. Knowlege is power for a patient, any patient, whether your having radiation treatment or not. Patients should have the right to know things about their bodies. It is their bodies that are being treated. Some doctors frown on telling their patients everything and some doctors frown on their patients knowing things about their body. To me both are wrong. Patients should be more aware of their bodies and their functions and capabilities. That way doctors can't fool the patients or trick their patients into something they don't know anything about. Some doctors these days only are concerned about the money. They really don't care about their patients and to me this is sad. If only we could turn back the hand of time when the doctors genuinely cared about their patients health and well being instead of greed.
