Can you tell if someone is depressed just by looking at them?

I think someone's eyes can tell the story. Depression affects a person's whole physical appearance - slouchy, sad eyes, not alert, slow to speak and move. After all, there is no hope for the future and great sadness and pain in depression. .)(
No. You may be able to discern something is bothering them but you cannot tell by looking at someone that they are "Depressed".
Some people who have depression sure do look like it, but generally, there is no real way to tell just by looking at a person if he/she is depressed. Sometimes the person himself does not even realize it.
A counsellor once told me she could tell I was depressed because my eyes were sunken into my head and looked sad, also, depressed people often get pale and dont look very good.

not all the time, most people commit suicide because they are depressed and upset that no one will help them, but most of the time people tend to keep things to themselves and grow to be good at hiding their feelings. Just listen to people, sometimes small clues are hidden in the things they say that let others know something is wrong.
