Tell about the abilities of different I. Q. 's?

Question:
say the problem solving ability of someone in the -------------range compared to -----------? I understand that there is a lot more to intelligence than a test score but I am interested?

Answers:
Once you're above about 130 you're likley to be able to do anything you want education-wise. Higher IQ's than that don't mean much except that you may not have to study as hard as others.

Other Answers:
IQ scores measure one and only one thing: how well the subject performs on IQ tests.
Different intelligence tests measure different things. Most often they measure verbal (e.g. vocab and general knowledge) and instrumental (e.g. spatial ability and block design) abilities. So they measure a person's ability in those areas.

Interestingly, however, SELF-CONTROL has consistently linked to higher SAT scores, higher success in college/university, higher job success, and higher marital satisfaction.

A person with a low IQ (say 90) will have to work harder than someone with a higher IQ (e.g. 120), but both can succeed only if they do the work!

130s vs. 140s I'd say there would only be a slight difference probably in speed more than anything. I.Q. scores aren't measured on a linear scale. It's more like a bell curve (I think). So, there are less differences in the high and low ends. Ask again in 4 months when I finish Psychometrics (psychological testing methods).
