sleeping problem....what's wrong with knees?

Question:
I have a weird sleeping problem. I sleep with my legs curled, I have tried to stop but that is how I wake up. sometimes I sleep on my back, left knee turned "outward." When I wake up the pain is excruiating (I have to literally lift my leg with my hand and turn my knee n' leg back straight) cuz my knee has been turned an awkward way all nite! I wake up like this - how do I stop doing this during sleep? What causes me to sleep in odd, painful positions that I can't control till morning? I am also a STRESSED out student.

Answers:
You may want to check out the symptoms link at www.hufa.org and see if you have any symptoms of low blood sugar. Stress can bring on low blood sugar episodes - and low blood sugar episodes cause and can add to stress.

If by curled, you mean you are on one side with your knees on one another and your knees up near your chest, that is an ok position - but it does not sound like that is what you mean.

If you try a small protein based snack before bedtime (like maybe an egg and almonds or soy milk and almonds, or something), you may find it helps.
your just stressed out
