Can Wellbutrin cause severe leg muscle pain, will it go away with time?

Question:
I started Wellbutrin @ 150mg 1 week ago, I was to take 300mg for this this week and then increase to 450mg. I took the 300mg last night and my leg pain is worse. I've not hurt it in any way that I know of. The calf muscle hurts so much I can't walk on it this morning. I don't want to quit the Wellbutrin and if this is the cause, will this side effect eventually go away?

Answers:
I don't know about wellbutrin, but i was on prozac, large dose, back when it first came out, and I got such horrific joint and muscle pain, that i ended up in a rhuematology clinic, getting worked up for all sorts of things, like fibromyalgia, arthritis, etc. -- but once they researched my meds, they discovered a then, unknown side effect, which was this sort of pain. Once they d/c'd the medicine, it was just a matter of days before those crippling symptoms disappeared. Good luck !

Other Answers:
well every person reacts differently to medicine you should consult your doctor as soon as possible to prevent a serious problem that may be accuring to you . however my wife took the same medicine and didnt have any side affects at all but that doesnt mean that you arent haveing a reaction to the meds so call your dr asap.

Welbutrin is very dangerous. If it is not thinning the blood properly then you could have a clot. Go to the ER QUICKLY! Severe leg muscle pain is not listed as one of the main side effects of Wellbutrin. However, that doesn't mean that the problem isn't being caused by the drug. If you're in that much pain, you should call your doctor right away to see what he/she recommends. Only your doctor can evaluate if the pain is being caused by the meds or by something else and either adjust your dosage or change meds as needed.
