Why do I have the urge to stick a finger in blender?

Question:
I keep thinking it would be fun to stick a finger in a moving blender or industrial fan. Is this normal?

Answers:
I will pray for you. You are misguided and need help.

the quick answer is NO.
you need help!!
Um - no. I wouldn't recommend it. (Particularly if it's somebody else's finger, but even yours - you probably want to keep it firmly attached to your hand.)
First, are you kidding? Secondly, if you are not, then you might want to talk to someone about self-mutilation( a doctor, psychiatrist, etc.). You just might need help!
maybe. i want to jump in front of moving cars sometimes and i am normal its just a weird fascination.
If by "blender", you mean "Justin Timberlake", then i share your urge.
moving objects often stimulate the brain and may cause one to think about touching them but 'obviously' common sense prevails with the realization that pain is often the result. This should be learned at a very young age, how old are you?
hahah i know what you mean. its because you really want to see for yourself what would really happen. You know it would cut you up really badly yet you just want to experience it for yourself. Its kind of like me. I want to see how it would be to be bitten by a shark. Your not a freak or a weirdo, you're just Curious George.
Okay, but try it with a mannequin's finger first and see if you still want to do it.
man don't stick your finger in a blender or a fan use a frog instead!
No and it hurts I have stuck my finger in blender on accident while cleaning the counters. You may be self destructive seek help.
This is a feeling that people get sometimes, to either hurt themselves or someone else, but you can overcome it by pulling yourself back into reality, as you have slipped from it. Think what would happen after you did what you are thinking of doing and then ask yourself that question. Do you want to go with a couple of missing fingers to the hospital to stop the bleeding? Do you want to be without a decent hand for the rest of your life. These lapses from reality are controllable if you realize that you. 1. have them 2. have prepared yourself for them 3. have thought out the reprecussions afterwards. So the next time you have the feeling think of steps 1,2,3 and step back from that machine! When slipping from reality, get a grip!
Wanting to stick your finger into something dangerous isn't usually normal. But some people do get similar urges.

This urge is what you might call "fatal curiousity", normally found in very young children and in people with thrill-seeking personalities (e.g. cliff parachuters, free rock-climbers, extreme sports athletes, stuntmen, etc.).

In case you don't fall into the thrill-seeking category, you might just be experiencing extreme boredom (I kid you not). Perhaps your life isn't exactly letting you exercise your imagination, and is beginning to make you think odd, idle things. This simply means you must take up a new hobby or cause, and put your energetic imagination to good use.

But do look inside yourself, and see if you're not really a closet thrill-seeker. Because if you are, you need to shift careers and become a stuntperson --- that way, sticking your finger into (or jumping through) a moving industrial fan would be absolutely normal.
Well if i were you i would not do this, why ?

just look what happened to the frog !!

Sure, stick it in! Satisfy the urge. You'll feel better after.
Yeah, I would not call that normal (self injurious behavior)
or SIB -ing is a serious matter , you don't have any sharp
objects near by do you ?
