To be certain you would need a doctor to diagnose the child. For symptoms and more information check on www.webmd.com.
Hand him a Game Boy if he puts it down before 5 minutes is up get out the ridilin if not hes normal
Very overly hyper, doesn't pay attention, doesn't listen very well. My brother had it... he was veryyy bad...
If he can't sit through a movie, and his attention span is only about 5 minutes. The average is actually only 15 minutes. I know that a lot of doctors will misdiagnose. It's best for you to test him yourself, the pharmaceutical industry is big. I was diagnosed as it when I was little, and a year later diagnosed as normal.
Unfortunately, this day and age, you can't. Most doctors are lazy when it comes to this. Anything they can't define gets thrown into the ADHD category (much like Borderline Personality Disorder in adults) and then begin pouring meds down the kids' throats. It's their "easy out."

The best thing you can do is not make excuses for your child via fad diagnosis. Get involved and stay involved. Make sure he's stimulated physically (outdoor activity - instead of just sitting in front of computers, gameboys and televisions as many of today's children do) and mentally.
If the are overly hyperactive, cant sit still, is overly impatient.. and you cant handle it so well or think you need help.. bring him to a family doctor.
