What do you know about avoidant personality disorder?

Question:
personal experience, not what's online please

Answers:
It's a pain-in-the-behind to deal with. Especially if you have it. Just think of all the stress you create for yourself! Overdue bills, a messy house, laundry always needs to be done, you're having cheerios for dinner because you didn't feel like going to the store and face all that crowd to get groceries. The itty-bitty rip in your favorite coat eventually becomes an unsightly eyesore, because you never took the time to get out a needle and a little thread to sew it up. You avoid all of life's little annoyances, and you ask yourself why, because eventually someone notices, and says, "Hey, you depressed or somethin', cuz' you live like a pig?"

For some of us, growing up was where the real pain was - literally, and we didn't want to deal with it. I'm in my 50s and, heck, there are parts of my childhood I wouldn't even put the most hated person on the face of this Earth through. I get around anything that's a vague reminder of that time in my life and I am a lazy, sluggish, couch potato-like lump.

Basically I can't stand the reminder of the pain. Even typing this is uncomfortable. But you wanted first-hand experience. This is mine. I hope it helps you.

I don't know but I hope you get lots of responses :)
basically avoided anything/everyone etc...as much as possile. which in the beginning sucks because life isn't all that fun. I would suggest getting a psychiatrist =)
Avoidant personality is not a disorder but a recovery step for depressives.
