is there a benzo that can be taken long term?

Question:

Answers:
My experience have shown that if a Benzodiazepine medication should be necessitated to be taken in combination with another drug particularly a mood estabilizer such as carbamazepine it will not be resulted in a severe dependency for a long time but a benzo alone will manifest dependency if it would be consumed for a period of 10 ten days regularly. However, another way to avoid dependency is intermittent consumption this cathegory of drugs.

Other Answers:
it depends on the illness. any benzo that is taken for a long time may already be a sign of abuse. i have seen patients on lorazepam and klonopin for years.
Generally speaking, there is not a benzodiazapine that should be used as a long-term medication. There are people who are dependent on it but not addicted (no withdrawal symptoms after stopping), even after several yrs of use, but there is a major risk factor. Good Luck !
i am still having withdrawals from tranzene. I took it for many years though. I am now on klonopin my dr says it will stop working after a while so you always have to adjust it. non are any good to use regular. be careful
